Read Only Memory 1/6 COLOMBIA
THE MAN WHO HID THE SUN AND THE MOON
Director Marion Schoevaert. After Effect Kathleen Tobin. Composer Pablo Mayor
Colombia 1/6 is a Pr-Columbian creation myth where three God-Monsters eat the Little Man’s world (the land, the crops and the animals). To protect himself and preserve his world, the Little Man hides the sun and the moon. After many negotiations and adventures, the God-Monsters regurgitate the world but transform into volcanoes, tsunami, and wild beasts, hurting the Little Man until the end of time: a parable of our modern environmental and refugee crisis.
The film animation in this series present distinctively stylized traditional Inca folk art redesigned by NY immigrant artists, assembled using cutting-edge technology. It will be both high tech and low tech, both traditional and contemporary.
The animation has minimal narration and is scored by original music composed by Pablo Mayor and his band Folklore Urbano, fused with alternative urban electronic.
